Useful pages
Goychay, in the green foothills of central Azerbaijan, is the country's best-known pomegranate region. Every autumn, at harvest time, the town holds a Pomegranate Festival with tastings, juice and nar sauce, folk music and dancing, and stalls with local crafts.
When
The festival is usually held in late October or early November; the exact date is set each year around the harvest and is announced shortly before. We will update this page as soon as the 2026 date is official.
Getting there
Goychay is about 220 km from Baku — roughly 3–3.5 hours by car. Gabala and its mountain resorts are about an hour further, and the road from Baku passes Shamakhi, so the festival fits well into a one- or two-day trip.
