The five-finger rock of Beshbarmag above the Caspian and the red-and-white striped hills of Khizi in one day from Baku.
Beshbarmag ("Five Fingers") is a 382 m rock in Siyazan district, right above the Baku–Quba road and the Caspian shore. Pilgrims still come to the Khizirzinda shrine on the mountain; steps lead to the top. Since 2020 the mountain is a state historical, cultural and nature reserve.
The Candy Cane Mountains are shale hills between Khizi and Siyazan with red, pink and white stripes. The colours come from iron compounds in the rock that changed with groundwater. Look for small fossils, including belemnites from the Cretaceous period.
Price per car: sedan $130, minivan (5 or 6–7 seats) $150.
