Khizi, Quba & Shahdag Tour
Candy Cane Mountains, Quba, Shahdag mountain resort and the Gachresh forest.
Khizi is a mountain district on the road from Baku to the north of Azerbaijan, famous for the Candy Cane Mountains — hills striped in red, pink and white layers of clay and sandstone.
The red mountains look most striking in the soft light of morning and late afternoon. On the way you also pass Beshbarmag mountain, a place of pilgrimage with views over the Caspian coast, and the forests of Altiaghach National Park.
Khizi is about 1.5 hours from Baku. It is the first stop of our Khizi, Quba & Shahdag tour, and we can also stop here on any transfer to Quba, Qusar or Shahdag.
All year round. Spring and autumn give the best colours; in summer go early in the morning.
