Baku to Gakh Transfer — Private Car with Driver
Gakh sits at the foot of the Greater Caucasus in north-western Azerbaijan, about 330–345 km from Baku, roughly 4 h 48 min by car.
In town you find the old Icheribazar quarter and the working Georgian church of St George, and 12–15 km higher up lies Ilisu, the former capital of the Ilisu Sultanate.
People come for the stone villages, mountain walks and the Ram-Rama waterfall.
It is a long drive, so your own car makes it easier: coffee stops when you need them and a direct ride up to Ilisu without a local bus.

How long is the drive from Baku to Gakh?
About 330–345 km depending on the source, which takes about 4 h 48 min by car. Ilisu is another 12–15 km up the mountain road.
Can the car take us all the way to the Ilisu waterfall?
No. Cars, even 4×4s, stop in a clearing at the end of Ilisu. From there it is about an hour's steep walk, or you ride up in a local UAZ.
Can we stop on the way?
Yes, a short stop for coffee, food or the toilet is normal on long routes. If you want a longer stop or a detour to a sight, tell us when booking so we can agree it in advance.
Do you have child seats?
Yes, a child seat costs $10. Please give the child's age when booking.
