Kalbajar
Kalbajar is a high mountain district in the west of Azerbaijan, between the Murovdag ridge and the Lesser Caucasus. Its landscapes of high pastures, gorges and mountain lakes are among the wildest in the country.
Kalbajar is famous for Istisu — hot mineral springs whose water was bottled and used for treatment for many decades. A new treatment and recreation centre is being built at Istisu, and the area is gradually opening up to visitors.
